Help Portrait Miami #SMCSFblog

Help Portrait

So my first blog post of the month talks briefly about an upcoming project here I’m helping to organize in Miami.

Help Portrait is a movement of photographers, both professionals and amateurs, who are using their time, equipment and expertise to give back to those who are less fortunate.  Through our help and in partnering with Miami Rescue Mission, we’re aiming to make December 14, 2013 a very special day for many individuals & families who may not have had the opportunity see their own personal beauty via volunteer portraits.

While the official World Wide Help Portrait event is being held on December 7, 2013, we are aiming to execute a week later due to scheduling conflicts.

We are still looking for more volunteers and the event is open to any and everyone who wishes to volunteer their time &/or expertise to the project.

This is what we need at a minimum for a successful event:

– Camera

– Light kits

– Backdrops and stands

– Hair & Makeup

– Food

– Donated clothing

– Coffee

– Printers (privately owned or borrowed from a print shop)

– Frames

– Videographer to capture the day

– Photographers to capture the behind the scenes

– And lots of smiling faces 🙂

If you are interested in participating, feel free to Join Us.  Let’s make this a successful, recurring event for Miami.
