With this year’s 24hourproject just 6 days away, I’m finally sharing what’s in my bag. Last year’s gear has been slightly upgraded, from the bag I’m using to my choice to carry 2 mirrorless cameras. Here’s my list:
– Sony a6000 w/35mm prime
– Sony a6000 w/16-50mm
– two RAVPower dual battery chargers
– Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
– Nexus 6P
Seems like a lot right? This year my bag is definitely more comfortable and, what I believe to be, much more appropriate. The top zipper on the bag adds quick and easy access to everything inside, without having to lift the front flap. There are pockets on pockets on pockets for storage, with a removable and adjustable padded insert for my cameras and batteries. There’s also a removable interior slip for my tablet.
Extra batteries will come in handy for all of my devices. I’m choosing to carry 2 cameras this year to cut down lens change time. Traditional street photography is usually one camera, one lens (but I like to break tradition frequently 😉). Both of my cameras are equipped with Neewer Professional Pro Vertical Infrared Remote Control Battery Grips (holding 2 batteries for longer battery power). I’m also still in love with the ability of my cameras to transfer images wirelessly to my devices (no fumbling with additional peripherals).
Specialty wrist straps were courtesy @bravestraps (⬅️ click here #supportlocalartists). Check out bravestraps for custom straps, which are economical priced, handmade, high quality and quickly delivered.
Also the external battery packs are great conveniences for juicing devices (including my cameras/battery chargers directly) throughout the day. I used these during last year’s event…couldn’t have been happier.
I’m an android nerd so I will forever have some android device(s) on hand. My tablet will be a backup to my phone for uploading to social media. My “go to” mobile editing app is Lightroom Mobile, but I may keep my camera in monochrome mode for the duration of the event, to minimize edits.
Lastly, I FINALLY invested in the manfrotto mini tripod. I was introduced to this gem by a friend (⬅️follow @alias3800 on instagram, another amazing photographer with some cool images shot on some cool gear…I’m still hoping to become as special as you sir with advance gear access 😉).
