Highlighting Our Community: South Florida Represents – Joshua Rashad Jones

As an event photographer, I’ve meet a lot of people and I truly believe that the energy you put out into the universe will help attract the energy you need in your life. This man has taught and reminded me often about staying persistent, pursuing your heart’s desires and always keeping the faith. I’m honored to know Joshua Rashad Jones, fellow HBCU alumni and an honorable friend.

City – Work in Fort Lauderdale but live in Pembroke Pines.

Profession/What do you do? I’m a jack of all trades…just kidding but
I do PR, Social Media and Communications/Marketing for a living.

Are you originally from Miami? If not, where are you originally from?
I was born in Griffin, GA and raised in LaGrange, GA. Small town country boy at heart.

How long have you lived in the city?
I have been in South Florida since summer of 2010.

What are you passionate about & why?
God, family, music and giving back to the community/helping others. I have no doubt all my blessings have come from above and my faith keeps me centered. As for being a musician, that has been running through my blood since I was in diapers. Music is a foreign language to some and to hear, read, sing and play it, is a talent most are not born with. I also enjoy giving back to the community whenever I can by volunteering and doing various activities or simply striving to make a difference in someone’s life.

What do you hope to accomplish through your talents?
To connect with individuals to uplift and remind them of their own
strengths, talents and capabilities through positive reinforcement.

If you were a superhero, what would your super power be?

How would/do you use your super powers to accomplish your goals?
Whenever I need something or to be somewhere, I can easily make it happen or if I am in a jam, I can just be gone like *poof!* … and then end up in Rome or Bora Bora taking selfies as a fun escape getaway plan.

What was your most significant achievement in 2014/life?
Getting engaged to a beautiful woman that I saw as my future wife (before she knew it) and is one in a million…literally. #KeepingUpWithTheJoneses

What if anything do you hope to contribute to Miami?
Anything that I put my mind to that is from the heart and will/can affect individuals I come in contact with for the greater good of humanity. Miami has an amazing network of wonderful influencers who make the 305 proud. I hope to be just that amazing in whatever I can do.
