I pride myself on meet and befriending people from various backgrounds, cultures and life experiences. I truly feel we learn so much from people so different from ourselves. I already knew that we both had a high interest in community and the arts. But even after having known this unique individual for almost 3 years, it was still amazed to keep learning more about her from her interview.

No, I’m not from Miami. I’m British by birth, Jamaican and Cuban by heritage, African by ancestry, sarcastic by nature. You can call me the “African with Transatlantic Roots.”
How long have you lived in the city?
I’ve lived in Miami for 4 years.
What are you passionate about & why?
I’m passionate about film, the arts and youth enrichment. I’m an artist at heart, having studied multiple disciplines, such as film, video and digital imagery. Currently, my passions consist of growing my business while positively impacting the lives of others using art. AAI has curated art exhibits, satellite Art Basel features and produced Caribe Arts Fest (2012 & 2013) a celebration of arts from the Caribbean and Americas. We’re currently producing the first Caribe Film Fest here in Miami. It features films with diversity.

I hope to accomplish a voice and platform for the struggling artist, while doing what I love.
If you had super powers, what would your power be?
The ability to move freely, back and forth within past, present and future time.
How would/do you use your super powers to accomplish your goals?
Free reign within “time” would allow me to be strategic with my planning and execution. Goals and objectives would be met at the level I envision and consequently impact the lives of young people in an undeniable positive way.
What was your most significant achievement in 2014 (or in life)?
Starting my 1st business in 2005, Black Brits USA, was my most significant achievement. It prepared me for everything I’m doing now. I exercised faith for the first time and learnt the importance of preparation. There has been many others, but that was most instrumental to my growth.
What, if anything, do you hope to contribute to Miami?
An internationally sort after black event, Caribe Film Fest.
