Are you originally from Miami? If not, where are you originally from? I’m originally from Port Arthur, Texas, right outside of Houston. My mother is Guatemalan & my father is Mexican.
How long have you lived in the city? I’ve lived throughout South Florida for 10 years.
What are you passionate about & why? I’m passionate about the arts, ranging from entertainment to beauty, because it’s part of my everyday life, not only are my hobbies intertwined with the arts but so is my education & my career in public relations. Pop culture is my thing.
What do you hope to accomplish through your talents? I want to accomplish many things, from accolades to certain recognitions, but furthermore I would like to make a difference in my community, for the people around me, to help better the lives of my family & friends.
If you were a superhero, what would your super power be? I am a super hero, we’re all superheroes in our own unique ways; but if I could add another super power it would be to unlimitedly grant people’s wishes.
How would/do you use your super powers to accomplish your goals? I set long term goals and short term goals, I’m a crazy planner & pay attention to detail, I think my skills & talent definitely help me accomplish my goals, both personal & career wise. I believe you have to plan, set goals, & follow through if you want to get anywhere in life. I’m hoping my influence will help others, in a professional way, it could be from discovering new talent to connecting with brands.
What was your most significant achievement in 2014/life? Well 2014 was tough yet rewarding, lots of memorable moments from trips to Vegas & Baltimore, working with rising musicians like Becky G & Austin Mahone, to finally doing Coachella & South By Southwest festivals, it was definitely fun. On a personal level, I finally got my own place in South Beach, I feel amazing. In addition, I got to work on 2 special LGBT programs for my clients, one to create brand awareness of General Motors’ Driving Diversity initiative in partnership with Gay Polo in the Palm Beaches, the second one was planning the launch of Walgreen’s new #WellBeyond HIV campaign that brings awareness to those living fabulously past the age of 50 with HIV:www.wellbeyondhiv.com.
What if anything do you hope to contribute to Miami? I really hope to help bring people together in Miami, I think of myself as a connector, from networking & introducing people to brand partnerships for campaigns. I also hope to continue promoting Miami on a global scale, positioning it as a key market for communications & beyond.
