City: Miami

Profession/What do you do? Animal Technician at University of Miami Hospitals

Are you originally from Miami? If not, where are you originally from?
I’m original from the Dominican Republic. I was born in a city called San Francisco de Macoris, moved to NYC at the age of ten

How long have you lived in the city?
I’ve lived in Florida since summer 2003. I moved to Miami and spent most of my time working in the Everglades until 2006 when I moved and worked in Davie, Fort Lauderdale area. Shortly after I moved back down to west Miami Dade, got married then moved to the down town area.

What are you passionate about & why?
I am passionate about wildlife conservation and more specifically reptile conservation. I got a degree in wildlife biology and my goal is to contribute to wildlife conservation through my photography, volunteering efforts, and educational outreach.
I am also very passionate about photography as a communication medium and as a form of artistic expression. I devote most of my free time to learning and further exploring photography.

If you were a superhero, what would your super power be?
I think I’d have superpowers to read people’s intensions. I’d love to find honest politicians that actually want to do good for their community

What do you hope to accomplish through your talents?
I want to change the corner of my world for the better. I want to leave this place better than how I found it.

How would/do you use your super powers to accomplish your goals?
I’d find honest individuals who are aligned with my goals, and hopefully accomplish them faster

What was your most significant achievement in 2014/life?
in 2014 I matured much more than I have before, as a result of a few life experiences.

What if anything do you hope to contribute to Miami?
I want Miami to be a first rate city, where people want to come and live because the following are better: cost of living, way of life, education, science, technology, environmental conservation, friendliness, employment, arts, culture.

I hope to affect a few of those areas through my photography and documentation of life in Miami, maybe even through community outreach and political involvement.
